CRO
Forum Topics For Discussion
It is the vision of the CRO
Forum to create a mastermind group for the growth and prosperity of its
Senior Professionals in Human Resources. Critical areas of discussion
will include the following:
1. Defining your purpose
– What do you want to be in life? What gives you the most joy?
How do you add value? Why did you choose human resources?
2. Career growth – What skills
or support do you need to further your career? How do you gain power
in the workplace? How do you get recognized for your accomplishments?
How to become viewed as a “value-added” resource to your company.
3. Financial prosperity –
Are you getting paid what are you worth? What strategies can you
employ to increase your pay? How do you benchmark your value to an
organization? What do you do with the money now that you have made
it?
4. The power of technology
– How can technology be used to improve the human resource function?
What is the best available human resource information software? How
can you take advantage of Intranets and the Web?
5. The training challenge
– How do keep you and your employees ahead of the learning curve?
What are the best learning strategies and tools? How do you identify
the benefits of training? What should we be learning?
6. Compliance issues – What
are the greatest legal challenges facing HR professionals? What are
the most powerful strategies for preventing claims? What strategies,
tools and assistance are available for risk management?
7. Time management challenges
– Setting priorities and remaining organized are the fundamentals of time
management. What is your highest and best use? What should
you be delegating? How much time is enough? How do you maintain
life balance?
8. The world of benefits
and compensation – Yesterday’s benefits programs are non-responsive in
today’s economy. What benefit and compensation strategies actually
motivate employees to greater productivity? What are the traps associated
with pay for performance? What are the benefits and drawbacks of
pensions, 401K plans and employee ownership plans?
9. Anything else you may
want to talk about!
At the conclusion of the
meetings we go around the table and identify action items that have been
accomplished from the prior meeting and action items that will be accomplished
by the next meeting. If necessary we will also allocate time to specific
member issues.
